2018 Bad Santa Trolley Hop raises $8,000
Christmas time is all about good friends, good fun, and good deeds, and each year we help spread the holiday cheer with our Bad Santa Trolley Hop. Our latest trolley hop, now in its second year, took place on Friday, Nov. 30. It was every bit as exciting as our last.
We filled four trolleys, provided by Amber’s Antibodies’ Board Member Randy Smith, CEO of Naples Transportation and Tours, for the Bad Santa Trolley Hop. We met at 6 p.m. at Miller’s Ale House Naples —many of us dressed in elf or Santa costumes—to take off on a bar hop.
Two of our trolleys headed to Pelican Larry’s on Pine Ridge Road, while the other two went to Bokampers Sports Bar & Grill. Along the way, we belted out Christmas Carols, and after an hour of enjoying festive cocktails, the trolleys switched places before ultimately heading to Whiskey Park in Naples, where the entire group rejoined.
“There's nothing like 160 people rolling into a bar all dressed up singing Christmas Carols,” Amber’s Antibodies Board Member Matt Langlois says. “The people at the bars are just blown away that this is how we ‘fun’raise.”
In all, we sold 160 tickets, raising $8,000 for our grant programs and cancer research funding.
Amber’s Antibodies hosts the Bad Santa Trolley Hop toward the end of each year. Stay tuned for the 2019 date so we can celebrate the holidays together and help give families in need the best present of all: hope.
